Ideas for the Guest Bedroom

I haven't had much time for projects around the house lately, but I it has been on my mind.  I think I've decided on a color for the hallways, library and living room and have a few DIY projects in mind!  The guest bedroom decisions have not gone so well though - I come up with ideas, then change my mind and I'm getting no where.  Originally I was thinking yellow, but decided that was too bright for a room meant for sleeping.  Then I decided to go with a purple and gold royal theme and decided that was a little to weird for guests.  Then I decided to drop the gold & royal and just focus on a purple room but decided that would be too girly for the general guest.  However, after much (I mean a lot!!) of thought, I think I finally settled on a color scheme!

I'm going to do a dark gray on the walls (the top one) and then use yellows, light grays and white/black for accents.  My choice was inspired by this moodboard from Young House Love:

And these great rooms from DecorPad

For the bed, I was thinking more white with accents like this one from (from beddingsuperstore.com)

This seems to have the right colors, but I'm just not sure about it...could be a little more busy than I'm wanting I guess.   So I thought maybe something like this from House*Tweaking:

Or maybe I'll just end up with all white bedding and a yellow quilt or blanket at the foot of the bed for an accent (as seen in one of the initial pictures above).  Then I'll add some bright pillows with yellow, white, and various shades of gray.

Also, before the room is finished, I'm sure I'll be heading to Ikea for some pieces as well.  Here's some items on my wishlist:

So with an idea finally in mind, I'm ready to get started.  First, I will obviously need to pick out a great charcoal gray for the walls and get to painting.  I also hope to start shopping for a few pieces.  I already have the grey & white rug from Ikea and a black table, but I hope to find a few unique pieces at yard sales/thrift stores that I can update (project time!) for my new room.  I'll be sure to post pictures with any new guestroom updates - wish me luck!
